So many people accepted the invitation to attend the Advent party in the Maria Dreieichen Church, that all the rows of seats in the church were well occupied. Music lovers were treated to a meditative concert by the Pulkauer Stub’n Musi Choir with baritone Mel Stein as soloist. Traditional Advent songs such as “It’ll Be So Smooth” and “Leise ripples der Schnee” were also part of the program, as were Stanley J. Gelber’s “On a Snowy Christmas Night” and devotional singing.
The centerpiece of the concert was composed by Udo Jürgens with lyrics by Wolfgang Hofer. Among the titles submitted by Jürgens were “The Year of Your Dreams,” “Snow Flowers,” and “Let There Be Light.” Three Christmas and Christmas texts by Mel Stein are read. Karin Wagner on flute and Erkki Duet on piano accompanied the singing. Curt Crane was in charge of general administration.
Host Father Michael Hotel took over the final portion of the successful event with thoughts on Advent.
