There's news from Alexis Pinturault!
The 33-year-old Frenchman spoke about his comeback plans in an interview with TopSkiNews. Pinturault fell badly during a Silberhorn jump in the Super-G in Wengen this winter (read here >>>), breaking his hand and tearing the cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Pinturault is currently in rehabilitation – but it initially proved more difficult than expected. The initial focus was primarily on building leg muscles.
But there was progress when she started training in May, “that was the turning point,” Pinturault says in the interview.
Back to the slopes in Sölden
The 33-year-old already has an ideal scenario for his comeback. The plan is to return to the slopes at the end of August to the beginning of September, and Sölden is the chosen destination.
“Sölden is ideal because the access to the glacier is quick and easy,” says the 34-time World Cup winner. “This means I can focus all my energy on my knees and rejuvenate myself.”
From mid-September, we will also go to Ushuaia (Argentina) for three weeks to prepare for the World Cup competitions – and to be able to attack again next season.
No more vacation! It was the summer of skating stars.
