850 visitors attended the four performances from June 14th to 16th. Thirteen students developed the music themselves with the support of their teachers, played all the instruments, sang and danced. They performed at a high level which is amazing for this age group. The young people owe these excellent results to their commitment, intensive and long preparations and the support of their teachers.
“We’ve been playing an end-of-school musical for 35 years,” Principal Alexandra Jäger emphasized in her welcome address. In 1988 the first “musical” performance took place. Many years of experience naturally helps implementation. The technical equipment has changed and improved significantly since then. “It’s amazing that the characters are mirrored in the individual roles because the students develop the pieces on their own,” says Jäger.
Nora is kidnapped during an environmental demonstration. After a long search, the trail finally leads to a group called “Black Devil” in London, who run “green lye” with their companies. Research stations are Sicily, Argentina and London. With the help of a detective company and the police, the friends find Nora and are able to free her.
The Black Devil musical features music by Quincy Jones, Josh, Vance Joy, Nena, Rosa Linn, Magici, ABBA, Super-Hi, Neeka, Keane, and Andreas Bourani. The special feature is that the students themselves play musical instruments, sing live, and dance an elaborate dance. Almost every young man works alternately as a performer, singer and dancer.
The enthusiasm of the spectators is almost equal to the joy of the actors, who at the end thank their teachers and assistants.
