In addition to announcing the release of KAYTRAMINÉ’s full album on May 12, Aminé and KAYTRANADA brought the world a pre-release single named KAYTRAMINÉ. It is called “4EVA” and contains a vocal part and was co-produced by Pharrell Williams.
The two musicians first met in 2014 when Aminé released a bootleg remix of KAYTRANADA’s “At All”. KAYTRANADA was a fan of Amin’s recast and reached out to him. The chemistry is right, and KAYTRANADA produced three tracks on Aminé’s 2015 mixtape Calling Brio.

Portland rapper and producer Amini released his fourth solo album TwoPointFive in 2021. While Haitian Canadian producer KAYTRANADA spent 2022 everywhere at once. He has toured North America and Europe with The Weeknd, had the single “Twin Flame” with Anderson Paak, and has also produced songs for PinkPantheress and Kelela.
Hip Hop Reading Circle is dedicated to their joint KAYTRAMINÉ song “4EVA”.
Radio presenters Natalie Bruner, Mehdi Rahimi, and Stephan Treschler pay homage to the linguistic microcosm of a hip-hop track: imagery and linguistic figures, analogies and references, puns and historical trajectories. Because good hip hop lyrics can actually be read as “poetry” and we ultimately want to show them the respect they deserve.
