As of April 2022, Wolfgang Leitner (68) will no longer be a member of the board of directors of Andritz AG. The company announced it. Leitner has been a board member of Andritz AG for 34 years, including 27 years as Chairman of the Board. Leitner will be proposed for election to the Andritz AG’s Supervisory Board at the next annual general meeting in 2022. The company is citing an exception clause in the Securities Corporation Act for the appeasement rule.
Joachim Schönbeck will inherit outgoing Leitner as CEO. Schönbeck has been a member of Andritz’s Executive Board since October 2014. He will retain his current responsibility for Pulp & Paper Capital Systems in his new position. The Supervisory Board has yet to resolve these changes at its next regular meeting on August 26, 2021.
New board member
Domenico Iakovelli will also be a new member of the Board of Directors from April 2022. He has held various management positions at the Andritz Group since 2011 and has been Chairman of the Schuler AG Board of Directors since April 2018. He will also retain this position. Other positions on the executive board of Andritz AG remained unchanged.
The plant construction group incorporated in Graz has about 26,950 employees and more than 280 sites in more than 40 countries.
