Anna Buchiger from Salzburg is convinced once again of the ORF program “Starmania 21” on Friday evening. Along with three other singers, she is in the final next week.
On a Friday evening at the penultimate show of “Starmania 21”, viewers listened to Ed Sheeran’s song “Shape of You” six times – albeit in various versions like rock or dance. Because the remaining six nominees not only performed their own solos, they also had to put their mark on the British star musician’s song as part of “Same Song Challenge”.
22-year-old Anna Buchiger from Aptenau, who has so far turned out to be a vocal marvel and a favorite of the jury, has reached the audience. She was the first to get her final ticket for May 7. She won over the crowd with her “Back to Black” performance by Amy Winehouse and her brilliant interpretation of “Shape of You”.
The audience designated three of the four places to start the last televised show: In addition to Anna Buchiger, the audience also voted for Vanessa Dolhofer and Tobias Hirsch. The jury – singer-songwriter Ina Regen, Tim Bendzko and rapper Nina “FIFA” Sonnenberg – finally decided who would get fourth in the final. Her choice fell on Fred Oso. That wasn’t enough for Laura Kozole and Anna Heimrath.
The evening’s seventh singer – albeit out of competition – was Vincent Bueno. He introduced his song “Amen”, with which he will fight for a place in the ESC Finals in Rotterdam on May 20.
