Luis Suarez, looking for a club, is apparently responsible for the next surprise. The 35-year-old appears to be making a U-turn again after all is said and done to return to his hometown club Club Nacional in Uruguay.
If American sports broadcasters ESPN and CBS are to be believed, Suarez will continue his career in Major League Soccer for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, his move to Los Angeles FC is nearing completion.
Suarez laced up his boots for Atletico Madrid for the past two seasons but failed to secure a new contract there. Since then, new movements have been heard almost every day. Recently there were even rumors of a move to Borussia Dortmund.
This is not Suarez’s first rejection. Close to joining the Uruguayan River Plate. However, the engagement with the Buenos Aires club failed as they were eliminated early from the Copa Libertadores.
At Los Angeles FC, Suarez will play alongside the likes of Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini, who signed with the Major League Soccer rival this summer.
