Cattle, swine and poultry farmers can access the answers to these questions from September 1 through the newly created online portal “AHDS”. abbreviation means “Animal Health Data ServiceIt is a project implemented by AGES to improve animal health and supported by the Federal Ministries of Social Affairs and Finance.
In interactive assessments and graphics, each livestock owner can get a detailed overview of reported antibiotic sales on their own farm. Perhaps the most informative thing is the potential comparison of antibiotic use with other companies in the respective division. With the farmer’s consent, the treating veterinarian can also access the data.
The AHDS portal can be easily accessed using the eAMA ID or in the future also via ID-Austria and Handy-Signatur.
