Art can’t just help

Art can’t just help

GMUNDEN. Also this year, Gmundner artists and charities are reviving the Gmundner Art Calendar: an art campaign whose proceeds go to a good cause. In keeping with vernissage, where original paintings would be auctioned, artists now offer their work and themselves with a wink — because art can also be fun.

Under the motto “Gmunden for Gmunden”, the organizers of the “Gmunden Art Calendar” project would like to thank those who support this project by purchasing a calendar or who made it a success in the first place. The art calendar has become a joint project of the whole city and is also communicated in this way. Some of the buyers have already been introduced on social media, including Basket Swans, well-known faces from retail and gastronomy, doctors, famous Gmundners and their friends. Also includes, of course, the obligatory technical calendar.

The artists wanted to adopt this idea themselves and display the calendars in a charming, original and humorous manner with a simple “wink”. And what better way than art.

Just in time for the charity edition on December 3rd, Gmunden’s art scene would like to draw attention to the calendars again. For the social project behind it and the artists behind this project with the charity clubs. Art can help. But have fun too.

In the photo series, the works of old masters and the Beatles record cover are recreated, and of course the art calendars could not be missing either:

  • Mona Lisa: Thomas Korat
  • Frida Kahlo: Josie Newman
  • Girl with a Pearl Earring: Christine Danninger
  • Magritte: Angelica Toma
  • Yelp: Michael Wittig
  • The Creation of Adam: The art workshop of Lebenshilfe Gmunden and our artists Andreas Krötzl and Franz Krumholz
  • Abbey Road: Christine Bahl, Helga Graf, Silvia Fichtinger-Attinger, Inge Kreuzer
  • Walkers Over a Sea of Fog: Matthias Kretschmer

The group of artists from the recently founded Gmundner Kunstverein enjoyed their first creative project, and hopefully the humor is infectious.
