Wiener Austria knows how to convince while running against FK Sochi. And in a duel with the third team in the Russian League, the “Violet” got a negative tie after a good performance.
“It was a good match for my team against a strong opponent who asked us a lot. I saw some of the routines we rehearsed in training, but I can also see what we still have to work on,” Head said coach Manfred Schmid’s presentation of the performance.
The reason for not scoring any goals is due to the strong saves made by the goalkeepers. In the first half, Noah Ohio (13 minutes, 19 minutes) and Aleksandar Djokic (16 minutes) bit their teeth from Sochi Zabolotny goalkeeper. Just before the break, Ohio nodded with a cross from Satner over the goal. After switching sides, the Alvien created an opportunity that Manfred Fischer (60′, 72′) and Lukas Muhl (73′) did not use.
Former Rapidler Matthew Barak missed the best chance for Sochi and narrowly missed Patrick Bentz’s goal (78).
Austria squad: Bentz. Martins (Ivkic 65), Mühl (Klein 79), Handl (Schoissengeyr 65), Suttner; Brownuder (65. Wustinger), Martel; Jukic (79 Kreiker), Grünwald (46 Demaku), Fischer (79th Mester); Ohio (Fucic 65).
On Friday (1 pm CET) there will be a second international friendly match against Czech first-class team Hradec Kralove.
Hartberg test canceled due to snowfall
The test match scheduled for Tuesday between TSV Hartberg and Bulgarian top-flight club CSKA Sofia at their training camp in Turkey has been canceled due to snowfall. This was announced by the football team in the German Bundesliga.
Instead of a test match, the Styrion held a training session at Lara in the unusually adverse conditions there.
