Styrian midfielder Manfred Fischer has blossomed into a true leader at Wiener Austria, especially in the current season. However, the 27-year-old’s contract expires next summer, which is of course interesting. It could be tangible now with a club from the North American Soccer League.
Charlotte FC finished ninth in the 14-team East last season and missed the NBA Playoffs. For the new season, the club wants to better position itself and also spend money: for example, with Argentine Enzo Copetti, they have already taken a player from the Racing Club, which cost six million euros.
One of the trump cards in the race for Manfred Fischer, who will certainly bring other clubs to the scene, is certainly Christian Fuchs. The Austrian international played 78 times for Charlotte FC before retiring in early January and joining the US coaching staff. Fuchs has been the club’s assistant manager since January 6 and of course still maintains good relations in Austria.
Fischer has played 62 matches for Austria so far, scoring 11 goals and eight assists. At times he was the leader of the Violet and developed more and more into a combative fusion character that showed the club was important to him. Austria, of course, will seek to extend the contract, but you will not be able to keep up with the MLS club financially. Most likely, the Charlotte FC interest is just the beginning of a bigger offer for the midfielder.
