Before the VfL last game for Wolfsburg and before leaving for the United States, national goalkeeper Almut Schultz did not oppose the women returning to the Bundesliga.
“Of course playing in Germany again is not impossible, but there are not many clubs where I play in Germany,” the 31-year-old said.
Schult will be in the new season United States Angel City FC, founded this year and revived by Hollywood stars like Natalie Portman. “It’s a gift when you play up to Manuel Neuer and the‘ Gigi ’buffoon,” he said. “But we ‘ve seen enough examples of how quickly one injury or another can be caused by a career move.”
The final match of the DFB Cup between the Wolfsburg Women and the Turbine Potsdam will take place on Saturday (4.45 pm / ARD) in Cologne. Schultz can win the trophy with the Green-Whites for the eighth time in a row. “Eight times in a row is an incredible series, it’s second to none. It only happens in very few games,” Schultz said.
