(Motorsport-Total.com) – Britain’s Jake Dixon celebrated the best time in first Moto2 practice for the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg. During the morning, the sky over Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring had dwindled more and more and the sun was shining.

The Moto2 class can only practice with spots. With standard Triumph engines, the new 2 chicane plays a role. This applies above all to the gear ratio that needs to be changed.

Shortly before the end of training, Jorge Navarro caused the only crash of the course on this particular new design. Track boundaries also played a role. Several lap times have been canceled by race control.

In the end, Dixon was fastest with a time of 1:35,000 minutes. He beat the winner of the series, Augusto Fernandez, by 0.161 seconds. Other places were followed by Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Albert Arenas and Sumquiat Shantra (FT1 score).

Ai Ogura, Philippe Salak, Celestino Vetti, Fermin Aldger and Marcel Schrötter completed the top ten. In tenth place, the German was six tenths of a second behind. Pedro Acosta is back in 14th place after being injured.
