Five years after her last solo project, superstar Beyoncé has promised her fans new music. “I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half,” the singer said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published on Tuesday (local time).
The 39-year-old also explains how much time it takes to work on the details: “Sometimes it takes a year to personally examine thousands of sounds before I find the right kick or snare (drum sound).” A chorus can consist of up to 200 sounds arranged one above the other.
“Exciting as it was at the time”
“However, nothing beats the amount of love, passion, and healing I feel in the recording studio,” Beyoncé said. “After 31 years, it’s just as exciting as it was when I was nine. Yes, the music is coming!” The singer did not reveal any other details about the new album.
With “Lemonade” Beyoncé released her sixth album in 2016. Since then she has devoted herself mainly to other projects: in 2018 the album “Everything is Love” was released, which she recorded with her husband Jay-Z, and in 2020, the musical film was released “Black Is King”. Beyoncé also coordinated the soundtrack for the remake of “The Lion King” and directed a number of sets from her fashion label, Ivy Park.
