Italian ski shoe manufacturer Tecnica Group, parent company of Salzburg ski manufacturer Blizzard in Mittersill (Pinzgau), was acquired in 2006 and closed 2022 with a 21% increase in sales to €561 million.
The group announced on Tuesday that earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 14% to €94.5 million. Net profit grew by 45 percent to 45 million euros.
Tecnica reported an increase in exports. The group recorded a 32.5 percent increase in exports to the United States. By product category, shoes accounted for 60 percent of sales, snow sneakers 30 percent and inline skates 10 percent.
Exports to more than 80 countries
Founded in 1960, the Tecnica Group has in its portfolio some of the most recognizable brands in the sector: Tecnica (ski boots and boots), Nordica (skis and boots), Moon Boot (boots), Lowa (trekking and outdoor shoes), ski manufacturer Blizzard Based in Mittersill (Salzburg) and Rollerblade (inline skates).
Ten subsidiaries and more than 40 sales partners export to more than 80 countries. Technica’s history began with the production of mountaineering shoes. The Moon Boot designed by Giancarlo Zanatta has achieved cult status around the world.
