NEW YORK, APRIL 17 /PRNewswire/ — The much-awaited seventh studio album, a superb and fun dance show, is now available worldwide
Parkwood Entertainment / Columbia Records – Beyoncé’s seventh album is now available worldwide – on all major streaming platforms. From its own brand, Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, RENAISSANCE comes six years after the world-famous LEMONADE show, which was surprisingly launched in 2016.
The creator of the visual album format and the preeminent visual artist chose to forego the visuals to allow fans to embark on an endlessly long listening journey. It’s an opportunity to listen again, not watch, while soaking up every gem of pure production. While the lead single, Break My Soul, came with a simple lyrical video, the release of RENAISSANCE sans visuals is another culture-changing move from the artist that defined an era of renewal.
RENAISSANCE was the most anticipated album of the year when Beyoncé changed course and on June 15 gave her fans an update in her social media bio: “act i RENAISSANCE July 29.” With the release of the first album, she continued the unconventional release with the album’s single “Break My Soul”, released at midnight on the summer solstice. The flickering rhythm is instantly addictive, and the words prompt the listener to feel euphoric and to “give up the wobbles.” The single, which was an international hit, was called the Song of the Summer and anthem of this generation.
Filled with evocative chants that speak to all, RENAISSANCE is the culmination of freedom and escape that encourages unimaginable cheer, activity and movement. The unique goal of RENAISSANCE, reinventing Four on the Floor, is to deliver music that stirs the soul and dances your feet. It is a celebration of the club era when those who felt like strangers sought one another and formed a community of freedom seekers to express themselves creatively through the rhythm that we still celebrate today. Welcome to CLUB RENAISSANCE.
The magic of RENAISSANCE also lies in Beyoncé’s soaring voice, rich, emotional and at times languid and full of passion and purpose in what can only be described as ‘The Voice’. And all with unforgettable lyrics that are bold, encouraging, and urgent, and are thoroughly contemporary.
While the visuals are planned for a later date, the album will be shipped in an extensive list of formats – music fans and collectors will be spoiled for choice. The music store on Beyoncé’s website offers merchandise for multiple RENAISSANCE albums and compositions. Including a CD, a digital album, a limited edition vinyl released with a bit of her signature puzzle and now sold out, and four box sets, Pose 1 to 4, a T-shirt and CD in one special box included. All sets were also sold out before fans knew the descriptions of the contents. The hit single “Break My Soul” is available as a digital single and also as a cappella and instrumental versions.
A premium vinyl version will also be available with the album release. Contains two LPs in black vinyl, a 36-page booklet, and a folded collector’s poster (approx 60cm x 90cm). The full shopping experience can be found here.
Beyoncé recorded the album during the nearly three-year pandemic, and explained that the serenity of that time allowed her to find her own creative self.
Beyoncé says, “This album gave me a place to dream, to find sanctuary during a time frightening for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous at a time when few people were on the move. I intended to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place without perfection.” And think. A place to scream, to leave, to feel free. It was a beautiful journey of discovery.”
With a list of prolific contributors including The-Dream, Nile Rodgers, NOVA, NO ID, Raphael Sadek, Mike Dean, Honey Dijon, Chris Penny, Luke Solomon, Skrillex, Beam, Big Freedia, Grace Jones, Tems and Beyoncé at the ready To work, “reinventing music,” in the words of The Times of London.
