Kennametal Inc. announced (NYSE: KMT) today announced its new FV Geometry design, which features an innovative chip-breaking design that provides a stronger, sharper cutting edge for improved surface roughness and chip formation.
“The flexibility of our new FV geometry provides improved performance with consistent chip control at low or medium cutting depths and reduced process interruptions for tool changes,” said Scott Etling, vice president of global marketing and product management.
The FV Geometry is equipped with channels that direct coolant close to the cutting edge – for the machinist who seeks maximum versatility and wants to make both continuous and slightly intermittent cuts.
Because FV Geometry eliminates the need for tool changes for finishing, it is ideal for a wide range of applications in transportation and general engineering.
