The mission was a success and Brian Liebler won the title with Red Bull Salzburg as planned. But one thing is clear: he will now definitely return to Linz.
In 2012, he won the title with Black Wings Linz, followed by a years-long drought. With Stahlstadters he was miles away from the title this year, then the call came from Salzburg.
Everyone benefited: Linz on a decent rental fee, Salzburg of Leppler’s skills and he himself has now managed to win the second title of his career. The 33-year-old contributed seven goals and made three assists in the Mozartstadt Championship, all from just 14 matches.
Liebler has been an important booster for Salzburg and will continue to be, but one thing is clear: Brian Liebler will definitely play for the Black Wings Lenses again next season.
He still has a two-year contract with the residents of Stahlstadt and will soon be moving into his new home with his family, President Linz Nader explains: “Brian is definitely not for sale.” And they know it in Salzburg, too…
