The summer cultural programme in Mödling was and still is something truly special. Shakespeare, the Teatro Theater, Home Base, the Organ Summer, the Bruno Max hidden productions, the Andy Berger Theater opposite St. Othmar, as well as “local cultural providers” such as Bühne Mayer and the Stadtgalerie are guarantees of top-notch entertainment.
And now there is another special event: Casanova Vienna offers cabaret and music fun on the church square with local stars from the world of cabaret and music. “The open-air art show in front of St. Othmar is another great enrichment for the cultural city and the cultural summer in particular,” says City Councillor for Culture Stefan Szymanow, SPÖ.
“CasaNova approached the city and expressed its interest,” Shimano stressed: “You take most of the investment and risk, and we provide the infrastructure and the gastronomy. This concept fits into our cultural summer, and I always try to bring new inputs to make it more attractive. It’s a good opportunity to bring cabaret stars to the city,” and at the same time, of course, we try not to compete with the closure of local providers.”
“We were looking for an alternative location for the Prater and became aware of Mödling,” Patrick Hemmers, Casanova Vienna’s operational manager, told NÖN. “The discussions with city councillor for culture Stefan Szymanow were very constructive and so is the “theater” in front of Othmar Street.
Manuel Rubi and Simon Schwarz will start the CasaNova Vienna series with “The Restaurant” on August 23 at 8 p.m. Klaus Eckel will follow on August 24 with “If you speak slowly you won't believe it”, and Nadja Elmaleh, Reinhard Nowak, Angelika Niedetzky and Andreas Stepan will present “South Sea Fever – Holiday Comedy” on August 28. “The best 20 years of Ö3 Callboy” by Gernot Kolles will be shown on August 29, “Großenwahn” by Tricky Niki on August 30. After Monty Beaton's “Open Air Special” (August 31), Katharina Straßer & Band will end on August 1 with “50+ years of Austropop”.
