Capcom is heating up the same rumor mill this time around, suggesting that more remakes of the Resident Evil universe are in the works. While this reveal wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to most gamers, it is a crowd pleaser.
The Japanese developer/publisher has already relaunched several titles in the franchise, all of which have received critical acclaim. There are no signs that Capcom will finish its new projects any time soon – on the contrary, it seems that the developers continue to revolutionize the Resident Evil universe.
Looking forward to the Resident Evil remake
The Resident Evil 2 and 4 re-releases have definitely raised the bar. Let’s ignore Nemesis, the third part remake. Instead, the big question is: Will Resident Evil 9 be the next game to be developed after the events of Resident Evil Village, or could another gem of the franchise get a new treatment? Rumor has it that the latter may be the case.
Capcom recently conducted a survey among gamers to find out their favorites when it comes to the Resident Evil series. Players were asked about various aspects of the franchise, including the Ambassador program and RENet, as well as other areas such as novels, stage shows, rides, and movies. One of the most interesting questions about the game that fans want to see again. Of the many answers, a clear favorite emerged: Resident Evil: Veronica Code.
Will Code Veronica finally get a remake?
Capcom’s poll fueled many fans’ thoughts on which game could get a remake after Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Some are hoping for a Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil Zero reboot. What lasts most fans of the series, however, is a revival Resident Evil: Veronica Code. The game allows players to once again delve into the history of ancient characters. Code Veronica connects the events of Resident Evil 2 to the rest of the games by telling the story of Claire Redfield’s travel to Europe to search for her brother, Chris. As the adventure progresses, players will learn more about Umbrella’s trials and encounter one of Resident Evil’s most iconic villains, along with some surprising twists that set the stage for the rest of the entries in the series.
Of course, this subtle hint from Capcom isn’t concrete confirmation that Resident Evil: Code Veronica will be the next game to undergo a reboot. It remains to be seen what plans the developers actually pursue. Some speculation indicates that Resident Evil 5 Most likely, not least because of an auspicious teaser during Resident Evil 4 Remake’s post-credits scene.
