You don't have to throw away old, well-kept clothes right away. Alternatively, you can donate them, for example to Carla at Mariahilfer Straße 3, Caritas second-hand shop. Almost all well-preserved everyday objects that are still functional and reusable are accepted there.

District Center for Relief Organizations in Vienna in Burgerspitalgasse 4–6 It does exactly what it promises. Here Mariahilf residents help each other, festivals and events are held and you can volunteer.

On the one hand, you can put food that is in good condition but you no longer want to eat into the Fair Share refrigerator. Those in need then take what they need for free. On the other hand, you can also donate your time as an educational supervisor, language group organizer or organizer of Grätzl festivals or food rescues. You can also help in many different ways at Gruft, a homeless shelter at Barnabitengasse 12A. There is something called the “Winter Gruft Package”. For 70 euros, you can give a homeless person a sleeping bag, hot food for a week and the chance to warm up in the cellar.
