We still have a little time until the teams from all over the world gather for the Motocross of Nations in Red Bud/USA. But after the first rumors about Team USA MXoN started to emerge, Chase Sexton answered questions from reporters. The HRC pilot is considered one of the favorites for Team USA. Ken Roczen’s teammate announced that competing for Team USA in MXoN has been his longtime dream.
“It’s always been a dream of mine. I wanted to ride last year. Of course we didn’t. But this year at RedBud, if it didn’t rain, it would be a great motocross race. If I can be there, it will definitely be a great day for me. I love being part of the team, especially here. Red Bud is my home track and the fans are amazing. Just thinking about it makes my chest hurt.
On his current form, the young Honda star looks set to make his famous racing debut at his home circuit, the Red Buds!
The Americans’ last win was 10 years ago and dates back to 2011. During that time, Ryan Dungey, Blake Baggett and Ryan Villopoto won against the competition in Saint-Jean-d’Angely / France. The event, which has been held since 1947, has now returned to the United States for the fifth time. So what could be better than to forget the shame of 2018 and win for the 23rd time at home.
“I visited MXoN in 2018. We didn’t have a good race and I don’t know if I’ve ever been so depressed after a race. I didn’t even race, but I felt really bad for the team because they didn’t get the results they wanted at home.”
Team USA has several good riders this year, starting with veteran Eli Tomac. The Yamaha rider is in great form right now and will be a real asset to the American team. But Jason Anderson and the returning Ryan Dungey will also be considered for the squad. Nevertheless, the current leader of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is hoping for an appointment.
“I hope I get picked. There’s definitely a lot of guys to pick from. I think I can come here and win for America and I think I’ll be a good pick. It’s been a while and I think we definitely deserve it.”According to Chase Sexton.
