Worldcoin’s primary offering is a digital ID that can only be received by humans and not chatbots generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
This identity should be used, among other things, to distinguish AI bots from real people on the Internet. In the testing phase there were 2 million users, and now Worldcoin has operations in 35 cities in 20 countries.
The project is succeeded by the San Francisco-based and Berlin-based company Tools for Humanity, which Altman co-founded. In Altman’s view, Worldcoin could play an important role in how future economies will be transformed by generative AI.
