In fact, the BezirksZeitung just wanted to order a short modernization of the construction site of the U2xU3 Neubaugasse junction station, so Mr. Schwartz from Wiener Linien said: “Come with us and we’ll take a look at it together!” He said and did. Safety first: We were equipped with high-visibility jackets and helmets, and went underground – a deeper underground station is currently being built in Vienna in the future. Here it is excavated, bent and scraped as far as possible.

Underground adventure

The construction of the delivery station is a large multidisciplinary project that requires not only construction professionals. Archaeologists are also used here, for example, because centuries-old wells or even human remains from the graves of ancient homes are found again and again.

The underground construction site has something of a time travel between the long past and years into the future. Once you experience something like this, you will see each subway station with different eyes.
