9er Haus Chairman Werner Neiger described the “Troi” band as a matter of the heart. This is completely understandable. Because their music warms the heart and soul. Already in 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, they were guests at the Weikertschlag and enchanted the audience. On Saturday they came out with “Heiter bis cloudy”, a mix of old and completely new numbers. The cast was also new. They are joined by Lena Neuner on double bass and Sebastian Simsa on drums.
It is difficult to assign the music of “Troi” to a genre. Singer and accordion player Franziska Hatz describes it as a celebration of opposites. You can learn about elements of swing, jazz and singer-songwriters. However, it is heavily influenced and accordion driven. Conductor Tino Klissenbauer also uses this instrument at a very high level. Most of the compositions come from him as well.
A mystery about the origin of the band's name
Some numbers are purely useful, but you never feel like anything is missing. The sophisticated arrangements captivate and dazzle every note. Poetic worlds appear that carry a lot of sensitivity. Seeing that people still feel for themselves and for others is so helpful in the face of the tumultuous forces of division.
There was no solution to create a band name. There are several stories about this. It is possible that the band name “Troi” originated from the display of the CD player “TR01”, i.e. track 1, or from the numerical code of the date of the band's first rehearsal, or from the fondness for the “electric” profession. Fixer.” Apparently some of the clues are true, but they won't be solved until the fifth album. However, only the second album is currently in the works. It deals with the environment and climate and will be published in the spring of 2025.
