After the huge success of Alan Wake 2 last year and Control 2 already in development, one would think that the developers at Remedy Entertainment would already have something to do. However, the Finns currently have another title in the pipeline and thanks to the current financial report we know what to expect from Condor.
What we know for sure is that Condor will likely not be the final name of the game, but will only be used as a codename during the early stages of development. But now we have some concrete information. The whole thing will appear as a live service game and a co-op branch will be launched in the Control Universe (or Remedy Connected Universe).
The treatment describes the game as follows in the current financial report:
“After the Hissing invasion, the Oldest House is under lockdown: a boiling pot of volatile and dangerous supernatural forces. Trapped inside are the last remnants of the Federal Bureau of Control who will need to take a stand and strike back to regain control. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And everyone needs him.”
So we return to the Oldest House, the headquarters of the control department and the location of the first game. Sometime after the events of Part 1, the administration attempts to regain control of the place.
“The Control franchise is bigger than one story or one character. With the codename Condor, we invite players on a collective journey into the depths of the oldest house. Inside, they will face formidable enemies and obstacles, but by relying on their equipment and each other, they will have a chance to survive… Alive.

Remedy seems to have high hopes for the new IP, after the new project has a budget of €25 million. The title of the final game and the release period of the new project are not yet known, but it will likely appear on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, production should accelerate at the end of the first quarter of 2024 and then we can return to the oldest home with Condor before Control 2.
