Within ten days, the crime thriller “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” with Daniel Craig’s ex “James Bond” was watched in 90 million households on Netflix. Between December 25 and January 1, another 127 million hours were streamed, Netflix said Tuesday night, making it — by a large margin — the number one spot for movies of the week of Christmas and a total of 209.4 million hours since its launch on December 23. Make December out.
That number divided by 2.3 hours of playtime gives 90 million households or viewership. Compared to other films in its first 10 days, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is “the third most-watched movie (after Red Notice” and “Don’t Look Up”)” according to Netflix.
Many stars make an exciting movie
In the star-studded film by Rian Johnson (49), Craig (54) plays quirky detective Benoit Blanc for the second time. Like its predecessor “Knives Out – Mord ist Familiensache” from 2019, which also aired frequently between Christmas and New Year’s and can be found in the top ten English-language weekly films on Netflix, “Glass Onion” is a crime thriller in the style of Old Agatha Christie films based on the classic junkie concept, i.e. the step-by-step decision “Who did it?”
Craig also stars Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madeline Klein, Jessica Henwick, and Edward Norton, as well as minor roles of Ethan Hawke and Hugh Grant. (papa/har)
