Apparently no one can get close to David Alaba!
French newspaper L'Equipe recently published a list of the supposed salaries of the Spanish League, with the Austrian Football Association star at the top of the list. The 31-year-old Viennese player is expected to earn a total monthly salary of €1.88 million at Real Madrid. In total, these numbers result in an annual salary of €22.56 million.
Alaba, who is currently suffering from a cruciate ligament tear, could be removed from the Spanish Croesus classification by Kylian Mbappe in the future. The Frenchman has been linked with a summer move to Madrid and is said to be set to net a whopping €20 million (!).
A better salary than the attacking stars at Real Madrid
Meanwhile, in second place is a former teammate of the former Bayern star – Robert Lewandowski. The top Polish striker is said to earn just €10,000 a month at FC Barcelona less than Alaba, i.e. €1.87 million. This corresponds to an annual salary of 22.44 million euros.
There are also four well-known professionals, FC Barcelona's Ilkay Gundogan, Real stars Vinicius and Jody Bellingham and Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who will each receive a monthly income of €1.67 million.
Aside from the joy of unexpected monthly gains, Alaba is currently concerned with recovering as quickly as possible so that he can jump on the ÖFB European Championship bandwagon.
