Official reports indicate that several people were killed in different regions of Ukraine as a result of new Russian missile attacks. Weather alerts had been issued earlier throughout the country.
The military administration there said on Telegram this morning that at least one woman had been killed in the capital, Kiev. City Mayor Vitali Klitschko had previously reported nine injuries, including a 13-year-old boy.
Several explosions were heard from anti-aircraft missiles in central Kiev. Residential buildings were damaged, Klitschko wrote.
Several cars also caught fire due to falling debris. An unexploded rocket warhead was also discovered in one of the apartments. The entire house has now been evacuated.
Two dead in Kharkiv
Ukrainian authorities announced that at least two people were killed and 11 others were injured in the city of Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine. One person was reported killed and another injured in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to city mayor Ihor Terekhov, a multi-storey residential building was bombed in Kharkiv. Rescue workers were still searching for possible survivors in the morning. Water and electricity were cut off in one of the city's neighborhoods.
