The first round is weak

The women of SK Sturm Graz traveled to Lower Austria to pick up where they left off last weekend – a win. The women of Graz wanted to extend their winning streak with complete success, but it became clear in the early stages that this would be a difficult task. The home team from Neulengbach has lost only two matches in the current ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga season and that is noticeable from the first minute. The home team left the ball and the opponents running, which was immediately reflected in the scoring chances. In the third minute, Gabriela Sarac celebrated the score 1-0. Then Jelena Dordić failed on her own against goalkeeper Romero, and shortly afterwards Anna Hall did the same – she also fouled a promising position. Guests from Murstadt never had real access to the game. So the Neulengbachers went into the break with a deserved lead.

During the half-time break, coach Sarjun Duran made changes and from then on the game became more open. However, good combinations from Styria were not to be converted into great scoring opportunities. In the 56th minute, coach Duran made a triple substitution by introducing Oka, Jacobsen, and Wernsberger into the match, which clearly benefited the offensive play of the white and black team. The game equipment increasingly entered the danger zone of Lower Austria, but goalkeeper Rusick denied substitutes Oka and Jacobsen. In the final stage, Sturm Damen pressed for an equalizer, but the compensatory goal refused to come. Therefore, the home team around goalkeeper Rusek, who was repeatedly solid, was able to maintain a narrow lead as the clock ticked down. So the women of Graz had to start their journey home without any points in their luggage. The Black and White remain in third place in the standings, but the difference between the leading duo is already seven and nine points, respectively. The weekend continues with a guest appearance at FC Bergheim.
