Peter Stogger dropped the bomb on Saturday after losing 0-1 at Hartburg in the Sky interview. The 55-year-old announced in an interview with Sky that he was knocked out of FK Austria Wien at the end of the season.
The timing of this announcement was surprising, because before the match Markus Kraetschmer said that talks with Stöger were not over yet. Indeed, Austria wanted to announce the decision in the coming weeks, “Austria is a devastating image,” said Alfred Tatar, a Sky expert. Andreas Herzog is not very optimistic about Austria’s future: “I think he will leave a big hole behind him. Regardless of the fact that Austria has very high debt, the sports side is now more questionable than ever.”
Sky-Info: Stöger is not for 1. FC Cologne
There is already speculation about the future of the former coach of Colonia and the Champions League. Returning to 1. FC Köln shouldn’t be an option, according to Sky’s info. Tatar thinks “Peter Stogger might also be interesting as team leader after Fouda.” Stöger was ÖFB’s favorite after Marcel Koller was ousted.
