The New England Patriots come to Frankfurt in November. As one of four NFL teams playing in Germany this year, the Patriots are now affiliated with the DFB.
Both companies will benefit from the partnership in the fall. The Padres are allowed to use the DFB complex in preparation for the Germany game against the Colts. In return, German soccer players will travel to New England in October to play in a friendly against the United States.
Dr. DFB’s managing director Holger Blask reveals in a statement that the association has been looking for a possible partnership with the NFL club for the past few years. DFB is now “proud to work with one of the most successful NFL teams”.
Foxborough’s successful franchise has already won six Super Bowl titles. No other NFL team has more trophies in its closet. The long dynasty of the Tom Brady era also made the Patriots internationally famous.
We know how popular patriots are in Germany
“We know how popular the Patriots are in Germany, and we can’t wait to travel to Frankfurt this fall,” said Joe Durant, the franchise’s senior director of sales operations.
But why now? Dr. Holger Flask describes the timing of the collaboration as “perfect.” In the statement he explains: “This year, for the first time, the NFL is playing two regular league games in Germany – in Frankfurt, home of the DFB”.
The DFB partnership comes now, just in time for the NFL’s Germany double back this year.
