The Saudi Airports Exhibition in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, is one of the most important trade exhibitions for airport development. The Airport Excellence Awards presented at the show recognize global suppliers and vendors for innovations, technologies and ideas that help improve airport operations, enhance the passenger experience, maximize revenues or enhance sustainability.
In the Ground Support Solutions category, Dimos received an award for its intelligent handling of ULDs using the fully automated Intrac pallet drive. This is the third award since the AGV was presented at the end of 2021. “We are proud and grateful – without the daily passion of our team, this award would not have been possible,” Martin Bremen, Managing Director of Dimos FZCO in Dubai, summed up when he accepted the award.
With a payload capacity of up to 7 tons, Intrac moves containers up to 10 feet in size and provides an unprecedented level of automation. This makes it unique in the air freight sector. By connecting to the WMS system used in the airport terminal, Intrac autonomously moves air cargo containers and similar load carriers inside, pre-arranges storage and staging areas, and stores ULDs in a flexible area if necessary. Thanks to its 360-degree steering, it is particularly maneuverable and can increase storage capacity by up to 50 percent.
