In the United States, Walt Disney wants its staff to be vaccinated. In a statement, the entertainment company announced that employees who have not yet been vaccinated have 60 days to complete immunizations. Disney follows the announcements of major technology companies such as Google, Uber and Facebook, which issued similar instructions to their employees earlier this week.
Disney has about 200,000 employees worldwide, half of whom work in two large theme parks in Florida (Walt Disney World) and California (Disneyland).
Due to the highly contagious delta variant, there is an updated increase in cases in the United States. The US government is reluctant to impose compulsory vaccinations. However, yesterday Thursday, President Joe Biden announced a series of measures to actually make compulsory vaccination in the public sector. Accordingly, non-vaccinated government employees should always wear a face mask and continue to be vaccinated.
