Following the abortion ruling in the United States, donations to organizations that help women who have abortions have increased. The Planned Parenthood (Planned Parenthood) organization told the AFP news agency that it received 40 times more donations in a single day than it normally received within 24 hours on Saturday (local time).
Vice President Kelly Robinson said more than half of the money came from new donors. He expressed hope that opposition to the court ruling and support for the family planning system would continue. “This is just the beginning, we will not give up,” Robinson said.
The Supreme Court on Friday overturned the historic 1973 abortion landmark judgment with the label “Roe v. Wade”. This means that individual states now have the freedom to allow, control or prohibit abortion.
At least eight Conservative-ruled states immediately imposed abortion bans. At the same time, protests took place in countless cities against the judges’ decision.
