The big Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is finally available after a long wait and is ensuring large numbers of players will be in the hit game.
A little over two years ago, From Software had their next big success with Elden Ring, which received multiple Game of the Year awards. Expectations for the big DLC called “Shadow of the Erdtree” were correspondingly high, but players had to wait longer than they would have liked. That wait is officially over today – and is once again producing amazing numbers of players.
Once Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available, the number of concurrent players in the action saga on Steam will increase significantly. In the past 24 hours, the maximum number of 589,948 players has been almost approaching the 600,000 mark. For comparison: a week ago, the highest number of Elden Ring concurrent players on Steam was about 174,000, and a few months ago this value stabilized at 35,000. The long-awaited story expansion immediately generates great interest in the action title.
It's still some time away from Elden Ring's record on Steam, as it was approaching the one million mark when it was originally released in February 2022 with 953,426 players. However: If interest in DLC on consoles was as high as it is on Steam, From Software would probably have had their next big commercial success with “Shadow of the Erdtree.”
Have you already purchased the DLC and returned to the world of action RPGs? Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series
