Big question mark
German volleyball players start the intermediate round of the World Cup with a big question mark. How much is the team really? National coach Vital Heinen certainly doesn’t know that. “Let’s see if we can go ahead there,” said the Belgian before his side’s intermediate round opener against Turkey this Tuesday (7pm). Germany is in last place out of 8 teams before the intermediate round starts. This is followed by matches against Thailand (Wednesday/3pm), Dominican Republic (Friday/7pm) and Poland (Saturday/8.30pm) in Lodz. The top four teams from the two intermediate round groups advance to the quarterfinals.
