Erling Haaland had a calm reaction to criticism after seizing his chances in the Manchester derby. The 23-year-old Manchester City gem admitted: “I miss a lot of opportunities.” But “he will continue to score goals, so maybe I will miss a big opportunity in the future and people will criticize me.”

In the city derby against rival Manchester United last Sunday, Haaland shot the ball over the goal from a distance of two meters without anyone intercepting it, and it could have been the equalizing goal before the end of the first half. A serious mistake motivates the ambitious player.
“People say I'm good at scoring goals, but I missed the best scoring chance in the world two days ago, so I can get better at that,” he said, self-deprecating.
For Haaland, the derby ended slightly despite the chances, and coach Pep Guardiola's team turned the match around and won 3-1. Haaland scored his 18th goal this season in stoppage time.
The Norwegian wants to continue to ignore the critics. “Should I think about it? No,” Haaland said. He also doesn't want to let the rumors about his alleged move to Real Madrid get to him. “Two days ago there was the Manchester derby, now the Champions League and next Sunday against Liverpool. So I think I have to focus on that and nothing else.” On Wednesday (9pm) Haaland & Co. will host FC Copenhagen in the second leg of their First Division Round of 16 tie.
