The Erzbergrodeo and DTM event was presented at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring at a high-profile press conference in Vienna.
In the legendary Café Landtmann located on the Ringstrasse in Vienna, a close alliance was forged in Austrian motorsport. Stars such as Gerhard Berger and Heinz Kinegadner attended a joint press conference organized by Erzbergrodeo and DTM.
Both DTM – the event takes place in Spielberg in September – and Erzbergrodeo from 16 to 19 June Support the “Wings for Life” foundation Kinigadner created with Red Bull Chairman Dietrich Mateschitz.
“It gives me great pleasure to bring Gerhard Berger and Karl Katusch to one table. Both work tirelessly to develop motorsport events for participants and fans.”
“Due to the ongoing opencast mining operations in Erzberg, we had to rethink some things in this process after a two-year hiatus,” Erzberg maker Karl Katoch revealed in the run-up to this year’s event.
There is now no area no help to make the competition more even between professionals and amateurs. The fuel points are also gone.
Berger expressed his admiration for Wings for Life: “What Heinz Kinigadner does with the crew is fantastic. After every DTM event, we auction off a helmet that was originally worn for Wings for Life.”
After the press conference, there were some really impressive things to do in motorsport at the Ringstrasse. Among other things, several winning bikes can still be seen at Erzbergrodeo through Sunday. Berger brought the 488 DTM Ferrari to Vienna.
