As the European Men’s Basketball Championship culminates in its hot phase with knockout matches starting on Saturday in Berlin, the 3×3 athletes will also determine their continental champions at Schloberg in Graz from tomorrow to Sunday. In basketball, the red, white, and red teams want to reach the quarter-finals so they can compete for medals.
For Austria, local champions Nina Crisper and Camilla Neumann and 19-year-old Austrian-Canadian McKendra Knig will compete for the Anya Fox Robtain. The Vienna 3×3 with Matthias Lenortner of Altminster, Philip Kremer, Nico Kaltenbrunner and Martin Termal form the men’s team that has to deal with Hungary and Lithuania. The top two in each of the four groups qualify for the promotion, as does the Women’s Championship, which features top-seeded Estonia and Germany with world 3×3 basketball player Sonja Grincher. Spain (women) and Serbia (men) will come to Graz as the defending champion, where 1,000 fans will find space on the UNESCO World Heritage site. ORF Sport + broadcasts matches with Red, White and Red participation live.
