(Motorsport-Total.com) – Sunday morning MotoGP preparations for the San Marino Grand Prix ended with the fastest speed for Alex Rins. The Suzuki driver was ten seconds faster than Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) with 1:32.521 minutes. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) finished third.

Most drivers start the used tire warm-up process to check the race pace and tire durability. Since the session was held on a dry track but rain was possible on the afternoon of the race, many drivers attempted to switch bikes in the event of a flag-to-flag race.
Quartararo led the standings for a long time, but Rins knocked him out in the closing stages. His Suzuki teammate Joanne Meir was also strong in fourth in the warm-up. Alex Espargaro (Aprilia) finished the fifth course, followed by Ducati riders Jack Miller and Michelle Perot.
MotoGP rookie Enea Bastianini (Avinitia-Ducati) finished eighth, while Brad Bender was the only KTM rider to reach the top ten in ninth. Wildcard Champion Stefan Bradl (Honda) finished this 10th.
Behind him was the duo working Honda with Marc Marquez and Paul Espargaro. The Marquis saved energy and drove the fewest laps on the field. He was half a second late. In general, the gaps in the field were very close. Up to 20th place, all drivers were within just a second.
Aprilia’s newcomer Maverick Vinales finished his warm-up drill in 18th place, one place ahead of Valentino Rossi (Petronas-Yamaha), who then has to start the race from 23rd on the grid. Only teammate Andrea Dovizioso, who was penultimate ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha) in the warm-up, is left behind.
