At the start of the 12th round of the German Bundesliga, FC Augsburg scored an exciting 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich. Pedersen (twenty-third) and Hahn meet for the sake of the brave Augsburger. Lewandowski’s goal (36) is too small for Bayern.
Augsburg made life difficult for Bayern from the start. The Munich team hardly finds any big chances, because Marcus Weinzerl’s team defends in a focused way. In the 23rd minute, the hosts reward each other for their brave performance. Pedersen hits the corner with a full shot from 11 meters and does not give Manuel Neuer any chance.
Augsburg continues. As a result of losing the ball by Marcel Sabitzer, who replaced Joshua Kimmich in the starting lineup, Andre Hahn headed after Iago’s cross to make it 2-0 in 35 minutes. Bayern responded immediately. Lewandowski scored the next goal with an air kick from close range (38).
Augsburg achieves victory over time
In the second half, Bayern missed the dominance that had almost always been shown in the Bundesliga this season. Only at the end Nagelsmann-Elf hits the equalizer and gets good chances. However, it is no longer sufficient to compensate. Augsburg wins the Bavarian derby in front of the host fans, 2-1. Marcel Sabitzer was substituted in the 52nd minute and replaced by Jamal Musiyala.
Bayern is still at the top of the league. However, the Dortmund chasers could advance to one point with a win over Stuttgart (3:30pm) on Saturday. For Augsburg, points in a relegation battle equal gold. FCA leaves the relegation spot and is now 15th after its third win of the season.
