Barcelona are said to be keen to terminate Martin Braithwaite’s contract. This was reported by the Spanish sports newspaper Sports. Accordingly, the Catalans are willing to pay a settlement for the Danish striker to leave despite the working paper that runs until 2024.
Barcelona urgently needs a wage cut in order to register summer signings with La Liga. So far there are no reports on the match between Robert Lewandowski, Ravenha, Jules Conde, Frank Kessie and Andreas Christensen in the opening match of the Spanish League.
According to the report, Braithwaite has so far refused to sell or lend with reference to his current contract, which he wants to sit down with the Catalans.
However, it is now said that they are willing to pay the Dane in one year of the contract so that he will leave the club immediately and is no longer on the club’s payroll. According to the report, a meeting was scheduled between the club’s management and Braithwaite’s agent on Thursday, as the Catalans wanted to make it clear that they were looking for a quick solution to the situation.
Sportingly speaking, coach Xavi isn’t building on Braithwaite anyway, who came from Leganes in February 2020 for €18m.
