Feyenoord Rotterdam took first place in Sturm’s Europa League Group F on Thursday. The Dutch team celebrated its 1-0 victory over its guest Lazio Roma in the sixth and final round, which pushed the Italian team to third place. Laziale almost shared their fate with their city rivals: Roma won a direct duel for second place with Ludogorets Razgrad 3-1 after two penalties.
Lorenzo Pellegrini scored both penalties before Nicolo Zaniolo made it 3-1 for Jose Mourinho’s side. Betis Sevilla qualified for the round of 16, undefeated and six points behind Roma. Manchester United missed the top of Group E despite beating Real Sociedad 1-0, which Arsenal did in Group A by beating FC Zurich 1-0.
Union Berlin did their homework in Group D with a 1-0 victory over Belgium’s USM Saint-Gilloise and rose like their rivals. Sven Michel scored the golden goal early (6) for Berlin with captain Christopher Tremmel. Braga and Malmö fell by the wayside.
In the tight Group F “final”, Lazio got off to a better start, but as the match progressed, the hosts got stronger, as ÖFB’s corps played Gernot Trauner. Santiago Jimenez scored the winning goal when he put the ball over the goal line after goalkeeper Ivan Providel’s error. Lazio Rome moved to the last 16 of the Conference League, where it finished third in the group. Midtjylland finished second after beating Sturm Graz 2-0.
Manchester United tied with the Spaniards in terms of points after beating Real Sociedad. Because of the better goal difference, the Spaniards won the group and thus a place in the Round of 16, United should advance to the Round of 16. Alejandro Garnacho scored the decisive goal after helping Cristiano Ronaldo (17). Arsenal are spared the “Honour Round”. Kieran Tierney won the London team against Zurich (17).
Meanwhile, Freiburg shared the points in Group G with a 1-1 draw at Karabakh Agdam. Michael Gregorich and Philip Lienhart rested and sat on the bench for 90 minutes. Unbeaten in the group stage with four wins and two draws, Breisgauer is the group winner in the round of 16.
In Group H, Monaco finished second in the standings with a 4-1 victory over its guest Red Star Belgrade and the accompanying promotion to the round of 16. Yellow Alexander Dragovic stops the guests. Trabzonspor won the parallel match against Ferencváros Budapest 1-0. Despite the defeat, the Hungarian capital club is in the round of 16 as the group winner.
