Fiorentina again in the conference league final Debris.com

A 1-1 draw in the semi-final second leg against FC Brugge was enough for the Serie A club to reach the final. The winner of the Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Aston Villa match awaits in Athens.

Italian club Fiorentina reached the final of the European Conference League for the second time in a row. In the second leg of the semi-final on Wednesday at FC Brugge, Fiorentina achieved a deserved 1-1 (0-1) victory in Belgium after the Violets from Tuscany won the first leg 3-2. In the final match on May 29 in Athens (AEK Arena), either Olympiacos Piraeus or Aston Villa await, who will play the second leg on Thursday (9pm).

The Greeks won the first leg in England 4-2. At the Jan Breedelstadion Stadium in Bruges, the hosts took the lead in the 20th minute through Hans Vanaken. A cross from the captain arrived at the far corner after Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano was subjected to the wrath of Maxime De Cuyper. But a converted penalty from Lucas Beltran had the ninth-placed Serie A side celebrating in the 85th minute.

Previously, Nicolas Gonzalez and Beltran (both 23 mins), Cristiano Biraghi's free-kick on the crossbar (74 mins) and Christian Kouame's (75 mins) header all wasted some first-class chances for Vincenzo Italiano's side. In last season's final, Fiorentina lost to English team West Ham United, 1-2.
