In the UEFA Conference League, ACF Fiorentina has the chance to reach the final for the second time in a row on Wednesday (6.45pm/Live on Sky and on tape >>>).
After a 3-2 home win in the semi-final first leg against Club Brugge, the Italians are in a better position to get going. However, the Belgians have lost only two of their last 13 matches and are unbeaten at home in eight European matches.
Although Brugge played more than half an hour in the first leg, Fiorentina only managed to score the winning goal in stoppage time. Coach Vincenzo Italiano said, “My only regret is that we did not score more goals. We should have exploited our numerical superiority better.”

Following a narrow 2-1 final defeat to West Ham last year, the Tuscan side will become the first team to reach the Conference League final twice.
In the final, either Aston Villa or Olympiacos will await Piraeus, with the Greeks winning the first leg in England 4-2. But Brugge wants to prevent Fiorentina from reaching the final and is relying on home advantage.
Midfielder Hugo Vetelsen said: “We are very strong at home and we just have to show our style.” His coach Nicky Hein added: “We know how we can beat Fiorentina.”
