First presentation and honoring on Sports Day

Consistently positive conclusion

For ski mountaineers, the conclusion of the first show on Sports Day was quite positive. The new Olympic system attracted great interest from visitors and the media. The World Cup, held on our home soil in Schladming, also provides fans with a great opportunity to experience the magic of this sport live. The ski mountaineers’ full focus is now on the rest of the preparations. First of all, performance tests and on-ice training will be on the agenda in October before the opening of the World Cup in France on November 24.

Votes:

Paul Verbenjak:
“I have been an athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces for three years, and thanks to the great support I can fully focus on my sport. To be recognized today as Rising Star of the Year is a special honor for me. It is a very valuable award and gives great motivation for the season ahead.”

Sarah Dryer:
“Sports Day was a great opportunity for us to showcase our sport. It’s a really informal event and is attended by a very large number of fans which is why I’m glad I was able to be there.

Andreas Mayer:
“The interest of many visitors in ski mountaineering was very great – greater than I expected and that is why it was important for me to be here. The audience enjoyed the event and I hope we can take part in the sports day again next year.”
