Florian Forster (39) has been appointed Head of Digital Customers EMEA at Invesco, managing sales of Invesco products and solutions across digital channels in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In his new role, he will work closely with Invesco’s sales teams across the EMEA region and expand existing collaboration and coordination with them. It will focus on the digital customer segment while leveraging local expertise and existing networks.
Until now, Forster had only been responsible for this work in Germany. The importance of sales via digital channels such as online brokers, robo-advisors and financing platforms has increased significantly in recent years. Invesco assumes that sales through these channels will continue to gain importance across Europe and beyond in the coming years, as Generations Y and Z, as “digital natives”, will increasingly make their investments exclusively digitally.
Florian Forster explains: “In the ever-changing financial landscape, young people are increasingly making investments via digital platforms and mobile applications. This development is a result of increasing digitalization of the financial world and reflects the preferences of a new generation of investors. There are several reasons in favor of digital platforms: in comparison with financial institutions Traditionally, transaction costs on digital platforms are often much lower, and this allows young investors to use their capital more efficiently. Digital platforms also facilitate portfolio diversification by providing access to a wide range of asset classes, including stocks. bonds, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. Many digital platforms also offer social features that enable young investors to connect with like-minded people, discuss investment strategies, and learn from others.
As one of the world’s largest asset managers, Invesco has a very broad base. We are taking into account the growing digital affinity of younger target groups with our expanded offerings. “We will also enhance the coordination and sales of Invesco’s digital product solutions to institutional clients such as insurers, private banks and asset managers,” Forster says. Florian Forster owns the business “We have played a crucial role in shaping wealth platforms,” adds Sascha Spekter, Head of DACH Distribution at Invesco. This field is growing significantly in Germany and we would now like to play an active role in shaping the European expansion of our sales partners. This was made possible thanks to the newly created company Position.”
