Inclusion was the keynote this weekend at 6th SK Rapid SNT International Championship with support from Kärcher. On Saturday and Sunday, the inclusion of athletes with different disabilities in a team and a sports competition in which fun is not neglected was the order of the day. The three-day football event not only brought games, fun and enjoyment, but this time also brought some well-known names to Vienna. In addition to world famous clubs such as Juventus Turin and Ajax Amsterdam | Friends and the disabled team from Hannover and FC Zurich were once again guests this year at the Varta-supported Korner Training Center and Allianz Stadium, where the European Championships and Champions League took place all day Sunday. In addition, SK Rapid welcomed national representatives from Wiener Sport-Club, FC Flyeralarm Admira, SV Austria Salzburg, SK Sturm Graz and FK Austria Wien as well as an all-star team from WBSV. The first tournament for children with special needs celebrated its premiere, which also took place on Sunday at Allianz Stadium and not only because this made children’s hearts beat faster. In total 200 athletes between the ages of six and sixty They were at work over the weekend.
The SK Rapid Special Needs Team was founded in 2014 in cooperation with the Vienna Disabled Sports Federation. Since then, the Kickers have always shown what it means to have fun and team spirit, because they’re totally committed to the cause – and they’ve already had some successes. As in previous editions, the tournament has been divided into two tournaments this year to give the large number of players plenty of time. In the Champions Cup, which spanned the two days of the tournament, SK Rapid celebrated their home victory with first place, the European Cup was held exclusively on Sunday.
