Kyalami – Monday 06/13/2022 2:53 PM
Formula 1 could return to South Africa in 2023 after a break of 30 years.
Racing series chief Stefano Domenicali has negotiated Kyalami’s return to the Grand Prix schedule on Monday. The last time First Class visited the road north of Johannesburg was in 1993.
If the South African deal goes through, there could be 24 record races next year. But return from Shanghai is still open. The new race in Las Vegas is already fixed. Qatar, which will be absent this year due to the World Cup, will return next year.
On the other hand, one or the other can be omitted from the European Grand Prix, such as Le Castellet in France. The provisional calendar will be published in August.
